DanceRemainings is an artistic duo collaboration between Jonny Berg and Sebastián Ruiz based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The company develops independent contemporary dance and performance through material for stage, site-specific works, dance films, community-based projects, interdisciplinary collaborations and workshops. It explores the intersection of body, city and social reality, often working in public space and in dialogue with local communities.
Through its artistic and pedagogical projects, DanceRemainings treats dance as a form of knowledge, reflection and possible resistance, and is the initiator and curator of the annual festival Humanography.
Jonny Berg is a professional cross-disciplinary performer and creator, trained in dance, theatre and performance art. He is interested in authentic movement and non-verbal relations in scenic reflection. With a Degree of Bachelor of Arts with major in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Gothenburg.
Sebastián R. Bartilson is a professional contemporary dancer, choreographer, teacher and performance artist. His research focuses on the power of ritualised actions on stage, highly influenced by Latin American traditions. He studied dance at Escuela y centro de danza Espiral, Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano in Santiago, Chile.
