We believe dance, movement and performance have a significant contribution in finding new ways of critically questioning gender and sexuality norms and are very important tools for both political and identity expression. Within this platform, we ask ourselves, among other things, how performance art and the experience of performance art, both as performers / dancers and spectators, can contribute to LGBTQI discourses, strengthen the creation of other spaces and opportunities for new meetings; physically, intellectually and creatively. We work unconditionally in terms of age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, nationality and functionality.

In october 2021 Danceremainings collaborated with Folkstaden Göteborg, a partner of the 4-year-long project ECRN including nine European cities. ECRN aims to develop rooftops into cultural meeting places.
Today 15-35% of Europe’s urban area is underused – the much-forgotten roofscape of the cities.
In the ECRN platform, we are exploring how rooftop surfaces can have another destiny. In a time where the privatization of public services and spaces are on the rise and ongoing gentrification often is a threat of displacement to low-income citizens, the project aims to visualize different futures and potentials of Europe’s most underused urban areas.
Danceremainings is contributing to the project through the work of Humanography, where we explore the urban landscape through body and movement.

Danceremainings has an ongoing collaboration with PG Väst (Positiva Gruppen Väst) for people living with HIV in western Sweden.
As part of our work with community-based storytelling danceremainings has explored various artistic expressions, “Our stories”.
Here, our input into the project has been dance, movement and contact improvisation. In 2020, the project “Reconnection” was carried out with PG Väst where we explored body and movement linked to the concepts of relationships and community. Within the project, workshops were created in a collective creation (text and photo) and we produced two dance films.
The project also included a series of duo portraits. In 2021, we continued to work with the concept and conducted “We are a movement” a two-day dance workshop outdoors. Produced works within the project are shown at the exhibition “Livet, hivet & vi-et”.
